Top Trumps Adds Ripley’s Believe It or Not! to its Lineup of Family Card Games

ORLANDO, Fla. (Nov. 13, 2008) – Top Trumps USA has been granted a license from Ripley Entertainment Inc. to use the iconic Ripley’s Believe It or Not! brand for its newest edition of the Top Trumps card game. The two have also entered into a co-promotion deal whereas Ripley will help promote the product by distributing free Supercards from the deck at participating Ripley venues.

The 30-card decks will go on sale prior to Thanksgiving and will be available at most Ripley attractions in the United States. In addition to the 30 cards, there will be an additional six promotional Supercards that will be handed out free to those buying admission tickets to Ripley’s attractions.
Cards in the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! series will feature many of the colorful, weird and wacky Believe It or Nots! from its current book, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Prepare to be Shocked. From jet-powered outhouses and a vampire killing kit, to a human cannonball and a weight-lifting frog to a diver swallowing a sword underwater surrounded by sharks and stingrays, the card game gives players the opportunity to learn about some of the wackiest and most bizarre people and items in the Ripley collection.

Described as the 21st Century version of the venerable card game War, the award-winning Top Trumps (www.toptrumps.com) card game has sold 40,000,000 units worldwide in the past eight years. The game started in Britain in the 1970s and has since grown into a multi-million dollar phenomenon which is growing in popularity around the world, from the United States to Australia. Top Trumps card games are now selling in 20 countries and the early cards released in the U.K. are now sought out and collectable.
Including the new Ripley’s Believe It or Not! cards, there are now 22 different theme packs available in the U.S., from Dogs to Bugs, Wonders of the World, Dinosaurs, Indiana Jones and Star Wars.
