DATELINE: CHICAGO, IL; BOSTON, WESTWOOD AND WORCESTER, MA... The Alternative Energy Store of Worcester, Mass., providers of renewable energy products and catering to customers around the globe via their online store (AltEnergyStore.com) and catalog, has recently named Herb Radford as Director of the company’s new Latin American Division.

A 20-year veteran of the global technology industry, Radford will oversee the Alternative Energy Store’s Latin American Division. His responsibility will be to cater to and develop more than 11 different markets in Latin America, each with a unique profile.

“Developing worlds need a lot of energy and there is considerable demand for renewable energy in these countries, in particular where there is no grid power available. In the Caribbean as well as up and down the coast of South America, wind energy is an ideal source to tap into, while in Brazil solar pumping is the most useful application, explained Radford.

Radford brings more than 10 years of hands-on global experience in specialized medical services and environmental technology to the company. Prior to joining Alternative Energy Store, he worked in Brazil for a large Connecticut and Washington D.C. based recycling company and introduced recycling in the country, which significantly impacted the aluminum industry.

Radford is a member of the New England Latin America Business Council (NELABC) and holds a BA in History from Northwestern University in Chicago and an MBA in International Management from Thunderbird University in Phoenix. Currently, he is a lead faculty member for the University of Phoenix and teaches global management graduate and undergraduate courses part time. He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.

A native of Chicago, Radford resides in Westwood, Mass.

Sascha Deri, president of the Alternative Energy Store noted, “The Latin American market is a very important niche for us because we are able to help developing countries take advantage of natural resources and control energy expense. Herb has the global expertise and proven track record that make him a good fit for our alternative energy team.
